About Us

We are successful entrepreneurs and investors. We invest in projects with the potential for high rates of return. Besides profit, we place emphasis on positive impact on people's lives. We are a partner of leading Czech and foreign investment funds. Not only do we invest capital in them, but also pass on our know-how and years of experience.

In 1990, we founded Walmark. Within 15 years we took it from zero to an annual turnover of CZK 3 billion. With Relax juices we succeeded in the beverage sector and eventually sold the brand in 2004. The Walmark story continued.

With 900 employees and branches in 9 countries, we have become the leader in dietary supplements and OTC pharmaceuticals (brands such as Prostenal, Proenzi and Martians) in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2010, the Walach brothers were awarded the “Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Czech Republic" and in 2011 they participated in the world finals of this prestigious competition.

In 2015, we decided to sell Walmark to Mideuropa, a London-based investment group, and established Aternus family office, where we fully utilize our extensive experience in building and managing international companies.

OUR APPROACH

We invest meaningfully and in areas where we see the greatest possible profit and return. When selecting projects, we also consider their positive social benefit and impact. Our approach is based on our experience of building local and global businesses. The current portfolio is composed of technology investments and funds focused on marketplace, SaaS, fintech or deep tech. We also invest in healthcare, private equity funds, real estate, equities and bonds. We place emphasis on the idea, strategy, communication and above all the quality of the people behind the projects. We help them grow not only through the capital invested. We share with them knowledge and expertise in HR, sales, marketing and help them create a successful business strategy. Our partners are also bright venture capital funds. For projects with truly exceptional potential, we prefer to make co-investments. As a result, we are able to create a portfolio that is diverse and able to withstand rapidly changing world and uncertain times.

Philanthropy

We've been involved in philanthropy since we were entrepreneurs, and we've always encouraged Walmark employees to be generous as well. Now the 3WFoundation, founded by the Wałach brothers and their families in 2022, supports charitable and Christian organizations operating across Central and Eastern Europe, as well as regional projects and cultural activities of the Polish minority in Zaolzie region.
