About Us

We are investors and partners in leading Czech and international investment funds. We select investments with high return potential while also considering their positive social contribution and impact. What brought us together was successful entrepreneurship, shared values, and a deep connection to the region of Cieszyn Silesia, where our families come from.

In 1990, we founded Walmark, a company that grew from scratch into a business with 900 employees and revenues exceeding EUR 100 million. With branches in 8 countries and exports to 45 nations, we became the market leader for dietary supplements and over-the-counter medicines (including the brands Prostenal, Proenzi, and Marťánci) in Central and Eastern Europe. Through our beverages division and Relax juices, we became number one on the Czech and Slovak markets, successfully selling the brand in 2004.

Adam, Mariusz, and Waldemar received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Czech Republic and participated in the global finals of this prestigious competition in 2011.

At the end of 2015, we sold Walmark to the London-based investment group MidEuropa. In 2016, we founded Aternus Family Office, where we fully leverage our extensive experience in building and managing international companies.

Aternus is a multi-family office. It brings together families connected by their entrepreneurial background and involvement in Walmark, as well as by shared values and a strong bond with the Cieszyn Silesia region, where the founders Adam, Mariusz and Waldemar Wałach, Petr Turoň, and Roman Kantor originate from.

Our team

OUR APPROACH

We manage and invest the founders’ wealth with purpose, focusing on areas where we see the greatest potential for profit and return. When selecting investments, we also take into account their positive societal contributions and impact. Our approach is grounded in the experience gained from building both local and global companies.

Our current portfolio consists primarily of investments in private equity, real estate, and venture capital funds, focusing on technology, marketplaces, SaaS, fintech, and deep tech. A smaller portion includes stocks and bonds.

We emphasize the idea, strategy, communication, and above all, the quality of the individuals behind the funds or individual projects. For truly exceptional opportunities with great potential, we opt for co-investments in collaboration with PE and VC funds. We help these carefully selected projects grow not only through capital investment but also by sharing our knowledge and expertise in HR, sales, and marketing, and by supporting them in developing a successful business strategy.

Philanthropy

We have been involved in philanthropy since the early days of Walmark, encouraging generosity among our employees. We support charitable and Christian organizations operating across Central and Eastern Europe, as well as regional projects and cultural activities of the Polish minority in Cieszyn Silesia. This is made possible through our connection with the 3WFoundation, established in 2022 by the Wałach brothers together and their families
